Step 1: Groom and separate before mascara goes on. Lashes that have not been separated before application tend to clump together the moment mascara touches them. Grooming first gives the product a clean surface to coat each lash individually rather than binding them together. Use the spoolie end of the 728 Double-Ended Bent Lash Fan and Spoolie for this step. Brush through the lashes from root to tip with short upward strokes, working from the inner corner outward. The spoolie separates and aligns each lash before mascara locks them in place. |
Step 2: Start mascara at the root, not the middle. This is the single biggest change you can make to your lash routine. Starting at the mid-lash coats the tips and adds length but leaves the base sparse, making lashes look thin at the lash line. Root-first builds fullness where it actually matters. Flip to the bent lash fan end for application. Its bent angle reaches the root of the lashes without the handle blocking your sightline. The fan bristles coat each lash evenly while minimizing clumping and spreading as you work upward. Use short back-and-forth strokes at the root first, then sweep upward to distribute product to the tips. |
Step 3: Separate again after each coat. Mascara can re-bind lashes as it dries. Flipping back to the spoolie immediately after application, before the product sets, separates any lashes that have stuck together and removes small clumps before they dry in place. Work root to tip in the same upward motion as Step 1. If you are building a second coat, repeat this step before the first layer has fully dried. |
Why It Works: Most mascara routines require multiple tools to groom, apply, and separate. The 728 keeps that entire sequence in one brush. The spoolie prepares the lashes so the fan bristles are coating individual lashes rather than clusters. The bent angle of the fan end reaches the root efficiently, which is where fullness is built. Flipping back to the spoolie after each coat removes excess before it dries. The result is lashes that look fuller and more defined, without changing your mascara. |

Try this three-step routine with the 728 on your next application and notice the difference before you even think about adding another coat. |
