Step 1: Place a light shade before anything else. Before you build color outward, put a soft, light shadow or shimmer in the innermost corner of the eye. This is the triangular area where the upper and lower lash lines meet near the nose. Even a matte nude here reads as brightness. A champagne or soft gold shimmer reads as glow. Start here and let it set before you add depth elsewhere. |

The 780 Pencil Brush is the right tool for this step. Its pencil-shaped tip deposits product in a small, concentrated area without spreading it across the lid. Tap the tip into your chosen shade and press it directly into the inner corner with one or two light motions. |

Step 2: Add shimmer on top for a spring-specific glow. Once the base shade is placed, layer a shimmer or pearl shade directly over it. This is what catches light and makes the eye look wider and more open. For spring, a soft pink pearl or warm champagne reads fresh and seasonal without being heavy. |

Use the 718 Tiny Pencil Brush for this layer. It is designed specifically for detailed inner corner application. The tiny tip picks up exactly the amount of shimmer you need and places it precisely, so the glow sits in the corner rather than spreading toward the center of the lid. |

Step 3: Extend the brightness under the eye. Take that same light shade and bring it just beneath the inner lower lash line, into the undereye area closest to the nose. This small extension ties the inner corner highlight together and removes the shadow that tends to collect there, making the whole eye look more rested. |

The 788 BDHD Phase III is ideal here. One side of the brush applies and the other softens. Use the applying side to place a small amount of your light shade beneath the inner corner, then flip and use the blending side to diffuse the edge so it transitions seamlessly into the skin rather than sitting as a visible patch. |

Why It Works: The inner corner naturally falls into shadow because of how the nose bridge creates depth around it. Placing a light or reflective shade there counteracts that shadow and pushes light forward, which makes the eye read as more open and awake without adding liner, mascara, or any additional eye product. In spring especially, when looks are lighter and skin-focused, this one step replaces a lot of heavy-handed work and creates the same effect with a fraction of the product. |
